About Us

We are Bahamian owners and operators, with a family history in The Bahamas of almost 300 years, and with ancestry in many of the islands in our archipelago including Cat Island, Long Island, Exuma, Eleuthera, Abaco and New Providence.

We celebrate the joy of growing up in the islands: the music, food and art that make us unique, and delight in the adventure and sheer beauty of our natural environment. We are a family that cherishes the ocean and are proud that our latest generation has chosen careers focused on marine science, ocean exploration and conservation, ocean finance and impact investing.

We have travelled to many wonderful and impressive countries, yet returning home to the islands always feels like a warm embrace. The OSPREY brings the best of the Bahamian shore to our guests. Because we know The Bahamas, we offer our guests an exclusive, truly authentic, and environmentally focused experience.

The Resort

The OSPREY is located on Great Harbour Cay, one of the 30 beautiful islands within the Berry Islands, an archipelago within the larger archipelago of 700 Bahamian islands. Located a mere 35-minute flight from south Florida, the Berry Islands, with their immense diversity of marine life, are known as the Fishbowl of The Bahamas. Great Harbour Cay features crystal clear waters for swimming and boating, mangroves that serve as a marine life nursery and habitat, a vast sand bar at low tide for exploring, and a 65 slip marina frequented by a pod of friendly manatee.

In its heyday, the island was the meeting place and playground for such notables as Cary Grant, Jack Nicklaus, the Rockefellers, Ingrid Bergman and Douglas Fairbanks. Although no longer a celebrity haven, today many successful international business owners, professionals and their families choose to vacation on this island to enjoy what Bahamians call “the sweet island life” of a rustic, nature filled, and slow, relaxed pace.

Our lush 3-acre beachfront property is abundant with thatchberry palms, native orchids and other indigenous trees. Guests enjoy 400 feet of beach; part of the island’s 5 mile stretch of sandy white beach. The design of our villas and cottages amplifies the ocean views and transforms them into a tropical elegance display, enhanced by vaulted ceilings, inviting porches and decks, and detailed roof lines.

Booking Policy

A 50% deposit is required for bookings made more than 30 days in advance, and the final 50% payment is due 1 month before your stay. For bookings made less than 30 days in advance, full payment is required to confirm your stay.

Cancellations: Full refund for cancellations made at least 30 days before your stay.

Mornings at The Osprey begin with fresh fruits, yogurt parfaits, and artisan breads with island-made jams, and our house specialty banana bread. Enjoy eggs prepared to your liking, our signature chicken sausages, and baked breakfast potatoes.

On Sundays, indulge in Eggs Benedict or traditional Bahamian seafood stew — a cherished island favorite.

Lunch

Enjoy a leisurely lunch of freshly prepared club sandwiches, gourmet burgers, crisp tropical salads, and wraps all made to order and served deckside with sweeping ocean views.

For a change of scenery, we’ll happily prepare a picnic basket for you to savour right on the beach.

Dinner Options

Includes a 3-course à la carte dinner of island flavors with international inspirations paired with a glass of selectively chosen house wine. Dishes may include freshly grilled seafood, tender poultry, and premium cuts of beef or lamb. To finish, enjoy a delightful house-made dessert.

Vegetarian selections are available upon request.

For a truly bespoke experience, a Private Chef can be arranged with advance notice.
